The term "Mala" is derived from the Sanskrit word "Japamala" which is a string of beads used for prayer and meditation by Hindus and Buddhists, culminating in a tassel symbolising it’s grounding force.  Whilst they look visually beautiful, indeed they have meaning throughout all the religions dating back to Ancient Rome and evolved from a simple knot to a decorative addition and embellishment to this day.

It is with this in mind that an EIU ‘Mala’ Boho Bag takes the namesake for the handmade & up-cycled tassels that adorn it, reminding us to stay focused and grounded at all times.

This range of Mala bags are a bespoke collection that are created using Macrame knotting techniques.  They can be ordered in a variety and combination of colours and are lined with traditional Malaysian batik cotton.

Available in S, M, L, XL measuring:

Small 35cm x 25cm, Medium 40cm x 30cm, Large 40cm x 35cm,   XL 45cm x 40cm
